How to port your games to OUYA

Great news for those who are looking forward to OUYA!

PiX Juegos just published 2 of their games made with BennuGD into OUYA’s game market, which means OUYA compatibility is guaranteed 🙂

Luckily for us, they’ve also published a guide on how to port your games to that console, which includes many important tips you should know to get your game working and approved. It’s important to mention that those games are also open source and can be downloaded from: http://code.google.com/p/pixjuegos

The guide can be found (in spanish) in their blog (http://www.pixjuegos.com/blog/?p=14) and in a post at the official forum (http://forum.bennugd.org/index.php?topic=3533.0).

Also, the guide has been translated to italian and is accesible at http://t.co/v2oM7I949s

By the way, you should check this link at IndieGames Blog with important tips on porting mobile games to OUYA

Play OGG/Theora file formats with mod_theora module

Josebita has been working on a new module for Bennu that allows you to play Theora videos in 16 and 32 bpp. The great news is that the videos can be manipulated as any regular graph loaded in Bennu!

Here is a demo of how it works: http://vimeo.com/63441778

You can download an axample here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rs7hx4w9twz9oa6/bennugd-module-theora_preview.tar.bz2 and follow the forum topic here: http://forum.bennugd.org/index.php?topic=3524.0;topicseen

The library is released under BSD license, which required only to mention the credits in a readme file.
