Pouvez-vous dire «Bienvenues»?

Aujourd’hui, un nouveau site international nous a rejoint. Les gars de FenixFrance (Précédemment connus sous le nom de DivFrance) se sont offert un nouvel hébergement: bennugd.fr. Nous sommes heureux de les accueillir parmi nous.
Leur communauté est déjà bien active et possède pas mal de ressources qui pourraient vous êtres utile.
Sur bennugd.fr, vous trouverez une communauté française sympathique, ainsi qu’une documentation, des tutoriels, des jeux et des projets en cours de développement à télécharger, le tout avec une touche française ;)!
Allez leurs dire bonjour et enregistrez vous sur bennugd.fr si vous savez parler français!

Hoy se nos une un nuevo sitio internacional. Los chicos de FenixFrance (anteriormente conocidos como DivFrance) se han cambiado al nuevo dominio BennuGD.fr y estamos encantados de darles la bienvenida.
Allí encontrarás una comunidad activa y establecida con unos cuantos recursos para que los pruebes. En BennuGD.fr encontrarás una amistosa comunidad franco-parlante con mucha documentación, tutoriales, juegos completos, juegos WIP y más, todo con un toque francés.
¡Déjate caer por allí a decir «Bonjour» y clica en ese pequeño enlace de «S’enregistrer» si hablas francés!

Can you say «Bienvenues»?

Today a new international site joins us. The guys from FenixFrance (previously known as DivFrance) have moved to the new BennuGD.fr domain and we’re happy to welcome them.
They already have an active and established community and have quite a few resources for you to try. In Bennu.fr you’ll find a friendly french-speaking community and lots of docs, tutorials, full games, WIP games & more, all with a french twist.
Be sure to drop there to say «Bonjour» and click on that little «S’enregistrer» link there if you happen to speak french!

Actualizadas las compilaciones oficiales de BennuGD, ahora utilizan OpenSSL

Splinter acaba de hacer pública la nueva compilación de la Release Candidate para todas las plataformas soportadas.

La lista de cambios es notable (Ver aquí para más detalles) y el módulo mod_crypt está ahora construido sobre OpenSSL en lugar de libdes, que se utilizaba anteriormente.

Esto es muy interesante ya que el hecho de usar libdes (Que no ha sido mantenida durante unos años) fue una de las principales razones por las que Bennu no ha sido todavía introducido en las principales distribuciones de Linux (Particularmente, Fedora).

BennuGD official builds updated, they now build against openssl

Splinter has just released new Release Candidate builds for BennuGD for all the supported platforms.
The list of changes is notable (see here for details) and the mod_crypt modules is now built against openssl instead of libdes, which was used before.

This is very interesting as Bennu using libdes (which has been unsupported for some years now) was one of the main reasons why Bennu hasn’t yet gotten into major Linux distros (particularly, Fedora).

¡BennuGD en TodoLinux!

Oscar Torrente Artero (más conocido como Osk en los foros) nos avisa de que ha escrito un artículo para la revista TodoLinux. TodoLinux es una revista sobre Linux y software libre/abierto en general que se vende a lo ancho de España. Su artículo ha sido publicado en la edición de este més (número 110) y ya se puede comprar. Si no vives en España, puedes obtener una copia en PDF en su tienda online.

El artículo contiene una introducción a Bennu y habla de su instalación y de cómo hacerlo funcionar con ejemplos básicos. También habla de la historia de Bennu, sus capacidades y la forma de distribuir tus juegos una vez los has completado, entre otras cosas.


Aún no he leido la versión impresa en papel, pero el forero Pixel -quien es más conocido por sus legendarios poderes de spamming- nos comenta que hay varias capturas de varios de sus juegos, que además son muy divertidos.

Osk también ha escrito otro artículo que será publicado en la edición del mes que viene de la revista (número 111) y os enseñará a crear un completo juego de laberintos.

Así que ¿a qué estais esperando? ¡haceros con una copia de la revista!

BennuGD in the spanish TodoLinux magazine!

Oscar Torrente Artero (aka Osk in the forums) is reporting that he’s written an article for the TodoLinux magazine. TodoLinux is a magazine about Linux and Free/Open Source Software in general that is sold nationwide in Spain.

His article has been published in this month’s TodoLinux edition (number 110) and is already available for you to buy. If you don’t live in Spain, you can get a PDF copy of the edition in their online shop.

The article provides an introduction to Bennu and deals with installing it and getting it to work with basic examples. It also talks about the history of Bennu, its capabilities and the way to distribute your games once you’ve completed them, amongst others.


I haven’t read the paper edition of the magazine myself yet, but forum user Pixel -who is best known for his mighty spamming powers- reports there’s wealth of screenshots taken from his various games, which also happen to be quite fun to play.

Osk also has written another article that will be published in next month’s edition of the magazine (number 111) and will teach you how to create a complete labyrinth game.

So, what are you waiting for? Go get a copy of the magazine!
